I have found that slowing down makes a big difference. Instead of 65 try 50mph. The harder the wind blows the slower one goes.

Wait for another truck to come along and follow at a good distance. Watch that truck and trailer as it crosses bridges, goes under bridges, open areas, etc...

Your safety is top priority. Don't follow, use your common sense to make sure your load is heavy enough to withstand the heavy winds. If you're scary, slow down. Its as simple as that. As you get more experience, you'll be driving in the wind full speed with your wheel ####ed to the side with no worries with the best of them.

Last winter I was in some really high winds my trailer kept sliding into the other lane. Scariest thing i have ever dealt with to hell with N.Dakota in winter

The strongest wind I foolishly drove thru, was on the gulf just north of Brownsville TX. It was an actual tropical storm. So winds were gusting as high as 70+. I was on a strict deadline and opted to forge thru. It was definitely a scary white knuckle ride. I had about 38-40k in my trailer. I was lucky nothing happened to me. I was blown into the shoulder a couple times. Afterwards, I heard on the cb about several trucks on their sides. Scary stuff. Most of the drivers were smarter than I was tho lol. They pulled off the road. Lol

I was in training, pulling a full load at night while the trainer was in the bunk....
Rolling south through Indiana and counted 12 trucks on their side in the ditch or offramps. But I never felt more than a wobble, but still kept it at a slow speed while others sped by.
I came up on stopped traffic for a tree that was blown down onto the expressway by the high winds. After about ten parked minutes the trainer woke up and wanted to know why we were not moving! hehehehee

Those high winds in TX, NM, AZ, WY, NV are they all year around? Or seasonal only?
I have seen couple of trucks flipped over on interstate, wasn't sure if these caused by winds or not?
Any comments please?...
Thanks...
