Nowadays the way the authorities are focusing on driver fitness,especially if you have sleep apnea you can't take anything for granted.

 

If companies would stop being in a race to the bottom, trying to be the company to get all the business because they can do it the cheapest, treat their drivers with respect with the goal of retaining them. Pay what the job is worth. More people would be willing to drive. Allowing companies to get the job done safely and efficiently, because they have those absolutely best suited for the job to choose from.

 

Hey everyone. First time poster here! The company I run safety for seems to be getting alot of interest from drivers looking to run in slightly older trucks because of these new systems. It seems like the alarms could be a big nuisance.

 

If I'm running for a company I want a newer truck. The biggest reason drivers look for pre-emission trucks is because they are going to own them, and it is difficult to deal with the problems of the new emission systems with the revenue and downtime of operating one truck.

 

These are 2012 and up, not very old, but the maintenance costs for newer trucks is hard to handle when your income is from a single truck.
