I wonder if that's for the CDL students who work the dock almost full time, throughout the training phase?

 

Sorry, I thought you were joking. I'm guessing he might've been. The P&D drivers in my area got a 50 cent raise not that long ago, as @upnorthwpg mentioned. I'm willing to wager starting pay is still over $20 per hour. They'd never hire anyone at $14. The very worst hourly jobs in my city pay over $15.

 

People are desperate in northeast Pennsylvania for some reason

 

We got drivers in northeast Pennsylvania driving for $12 an hour if that tells you anything about the economy here

 

Different areas start at different rates. Pretty sure it's over 20 an hour at least. I'd have to check, been a lot of years since I looked! Benefit pkg, co pay like everyone else. I'm in Canada, so it's a little different for me, but I'll find out for you.

 

Do Con Way/XPO drivers work the dock frequently? I'm sure it depends on seniority and the facility, but I talked with some drivers that were frustrated at the amount of dock work.

I suppose the money would make all the difference in the world, at least it would to me.

 

Lots of dock time. Some drivers spend 10 hours on the dock if no run for them.
