I've hauled a forklift to OKC and a couple of boom lifts to Phoenix for them. Pay was ok. Always cool people to work with, in my opinion.
bzinger Thanks this. -
Oh and picked it up in north kc .

When you know how to secure their equipment, it's really easy work. I did a 6K zoom boom (2 chains, 4 binders, two sets of loops front and back) and 4 (small, I don't recall the weight) scissor lifts, and it took a good hour and a bit to figure out those scissor lifts for securement (it was late in the day, and most of their staff was gone already, so there wasn't really anyone around to help).
I hope to do more equipment, I love learning new stuff. -
You'll get a new john deere skidsteer loader, you wont get it to move, takes awhile to figure out all 5 security measures..You'll cuss and scream, tick tock tick toc...The love for learning notion will be tested...
tip; on those, if they have the seatbelt pre-seatbelted, it still not considered belted, you gotta unhook it, then plug it right back in...the fricken thing will start, but never move...it was so aggrivating...I move monsters baby!!! and now this little piece of crap i can almost hand load wont move for me....arrrggg!!!
Some things suck, like certain lighting units, generators etc etc..I like to make everything super super tight, and with some equipment you cant, you'll pull it apart!!! LOL...
Excavators are my favorite...fun to play with
go be an CDL equipment operator for landscape company...you'll usually be the only one, get to haul, and operate...One day Id haul a backhoe out, and be on it all day...Next day would be a bobcat, or a loader....3 rd day might be a trencher, or a curb extrusion machine...day 4 water truck, day 5 runnin sand in a dump truck...fun fun job, paid decently (now a 20 dollar an hour gig), home nightly...I miss it
Day goes by fast too...Needed permission to work overtime!!! LOL...I fought for 10's...!!
Here I am now, filling logbooks running 65 hours a week wonderin what i did....
My way not the highway!!!! (i just made that up, exactly right now!!)LOLZeviander and Doing_flatbed_nc Thank this. -
I made good money when we hauled for UR. Day rate was $1200, my cut was $360

Yea, everything is like that it seems. Often we can't get something working and we call dispatch to see who moved it last to see if they remember what the trick is for that machine.
With out brooms, you often have to play with the pedal to start it. The other thing that is annoying is keys. When the ignition goes, they pick a random key to use. I've got to try 3 different keys for the same type machine sometimes. -
While attempting to load a broom, an ol' veteran came out and asked me if i could cleanup the mess the construction guys left on his street....
I said "sure", hopped on and did what i thought was a perfect job" the street looked brand new!!
Turns out, the bristles are only supposed to kiss the road surface... I actually pressed it all the way down and wore out a 5 thousand dollar broom roller in like 20 minutes...
I kept saying to myself "dang, this works really good"...now i know i was milling, not sweepingpassingthru69, KriegHund, bzinger and 1 other person Thank this. -
Haha that's awesome @realdesertkickin
I can't believe those are 5 grand each. We change them out all the time. And the head of our equipment mechanics has ocd wrt keeping the yard swept.
What type of broom? 90% of ours are Broce but we have 3-5 truck types.
