That would be the best option but of course that is out of my hands. The reason I won't do that without a plan is in case I get stuck for the weekend. I don't want to sit at a yard with nothing but microwave food to eat and crappy showers.
I wonder, do the planners understand HOS?

I can make a Friday delivery but that is not what is called for. Plus, you know how these chemical plants are, they like to shut down deliveries by 1300 or 1500. Couple that with my selfishness for not wanting to drive Friday afternoon Chicago traffic and I think it is a bad plan, lol!bamamac and White_Knuckle_Newbie Thank this.

My last job, hauling motor oil, was the same way. Small company so I dealt straight with the owner and his go to line was "ughh just figure it out", then immediately followed my a dial tone.

I have never stressed over being on time when doing so is not possible. Let dispatch know via qualcom/peoplenet and do your best. My last 2 loads (450mi and 1780mi + border crossing with PARS screw up) were late. Both were beyomd my control, no worries.
