It's difficulty for anyone to make recommendations for you without knowing where you live as you may not live within the hiring area of some companies..

I don't know what's going on with the driver pay scale. That's something you'd have to talk to recruiting about.
Fleet's been undergoing a huge fleet refresh.. if you see a T660, it's either an owner/op who bought their truck from the company, a truck belonging to Shipper's West, or one of the former DSCO trucks now being used for daycab work. T680 is the mainstay of the company fleet, with a number of Peterbilt 589s and Freightliner Cascadias, as well. There are also a handful of T800s which run some sort of regional route in the midwest... once in a blue moon, we'll see one at the Denver yard.
You may have seen T660s, ProStars, and Volvos in the past (in both Navajo Express and Cargo Express livery).... they're a thing of the past, now, and the last of the Volvos are being finalized to be traded in at the Denver yard now.
Most of the T680s and all of the 589s have the PACCAR MX13 engine. The earlier T680s (3152 - 3206 in Navajo livery, and 11291 (?) - 11316 in Cargo Express livery) have the Cummins ISX. All of the ISX-powered T680s, all of the Freightliners, and all of the Peterbilts have a 10 speed manual. The PACCAR-powered T680s are a mixed batch... they were initially purchased with 10 speeds manuals, and an initial batch of five with Eaton autoshifts was thrown into the mix... then they went with 9C transmissions (some of which were later converted to 13 speeds), and the newest ones - as well as the entire Costco dedicated fleet which pulls Rocky Mountain doubles - are autoshift. Yes, the company is going auto, but they've got a ways to go before they're fully integrated. Pretty much, if it's white and orange or all white, it'll be manual (though there are a few all white ones with autos) and any other color which isn't an owner-op will be auto.
All line haul trucks with the exception of the Costco fleet has APUs. Earlier trucks have the Carrier Comfort Pro with the heat coils and 120v power supplied by a generator... newer ones use a Thermo King Tripak which provides AC... 120v power is supplied through an inverter, and bun heat is supplied by an Espar heater (which produces both higher BTU ratings than the electric coils used by the Comfort Pro, and also allows you to continue using 120v power continuously... with the Comfort Pro, you only get it when the APU is running, and the 120v cuts off in the high heat setting, as that setting fires up both heating coils, and all power produced by the generator is directed to it).
Junior is at the helm now... as for Digby Sr.'s involvement, I'm in no position to say, although I don't doubt he's still working behind the scenes.
Typical of snail patrol entry level carriers, you won't be getting a fast truck here... 62 on the floor, 65 on the cruise. That's both for company drivers and lease operators.. owner/ops aren't bound to this, naturally. Trucks 3207 and up have the Wingman system and adaptive cruise, with exception to the Freightliners. Costco trucks have them also, but they're numbered 9xx through... I wanna say 11xx, but they might be up to the 12s now.
The company does allow pets. They do have a rider policy, although I don't know the ins and outs of it. When I went through driver orientation (I had to, in order to be able to drive the trucks off-site... I was actually the first mechanic of theirs to do this), they offered quarterly bonuses, fuel bonuses.. to be honest, I didn't pay much attention to that part, as it really didn't pertain to me.
They do use e-logs, and the trucks are equipped with the MCP-110 Qualcomm system. The older MCP-100s do still exist, but typically only with agent trucks, owner/ops who purchased a truck equipped with that system, and owner/ops who lease on trucks old enough to still use a SAE J1708 system (i.e., 2007 or older).
I have heard rumors about a limited number of W900Ls, 389s, or both being purchased in the future for senior drivers, but nothing on that has been put out through official channels, and I am going to remain extremely skeptical of that claim. Most of the drivers seem to like the spaciousness of the trucks in inventory (especially those who went into them from a T660 with the Aerodyne sleeper), and all that's going to do is bring on an endless barrage of, "Well, why can't I have one of those?".. and there are precedents for that.. saw it with the 13 speed conversions, seeing it with other incentives and truck amenities offered to senior drivers.Lepton1, stlvance, Toomanybikes and 1 other person Thank this. -

A lot of these changed all happened within the last year or so.. you were still there when they received the first five orange gremlins with the autoshifts, right? Something like 3238 - 3242 or something like that? You might remember Joe McCubbins.. he had 3240... don't remember what truck he had before that. ot sure if you'd heard about what happened.

I have 3238... Nice tractor. She does great on the road with her automatic. A bit irritating when I need to back her up 18" - she either sits there like a stubborn mule, or wants to back up 10'. I love the all-orange paint with blue accent scheme. Her name is "Orange Crush".

Seems like the same issues I had with an auto prostar backing up and I got out In December and it was right after delivery of the radar equipped ones hit the fleet or should I say right after the speed cut happened lol
