Worked for Melton about 1 and 1/2 years before leaving in August 2015. Being out 3 to 4 weeks became to much. I heard they changed home time. Can anyone tell me how long you stay out before eligible for home time.

I normally stay out 2 to three months, but that's my choice.

I'd avoid any company that uses the word "home-time".

I stayed out 6 months or more.

My last big tour was along the Gulf Coast nothing north of I10 between San Anotnio/Houstion all the way to Jaxville Fla running Pipe for rigs. I think it was late 94 Sept all the way through to marc/april of 1995 before the accumulated gripe bust list on the truck finally required shop time at the headquaters in Indiana.

Best case scenario, Im gone chain season end to chain season begin. Then I stay home during chain season, not even lifting the shovel because I have no place to be. Just hibernate, eat and rest until it's time to go.

Giddy up go. See you next year.

Not too many people can do this. But that was my world and I was very happy within it I guess you can say I pine for those simple days of rolling in the rain down there picking out a place to stop for the night with all those chains and straps jingling and working loose on the deck.

And the women... oy the women...

They say 2 weeks , but you have to wait till your out 7 days before you can request home time so 21 days , or 20 really because you can request to be home on that 21st day

I read that it's 1 day for every 7 days out and a couple guys told me they sometimes get home every week and some say they go out for 4-6 weeks... I like the idea of working 6 weeks and taking 6 days off.
