Hurst has been lying to us....

    I'm guessing they are pretty close in weight.

    Most 94 - 99 379's I see only have a 63" sleeper. My Columbia has a 72" and despite everyone thinking Freightliners are light,.. mine is quite heavy. Full of fuel,.. I scale 34,680 with my step trailer. 99 379 with a 265" wheel base probably wont weigh more than my Columbia. If it does,.. it wont be by much.

    When I was running a 2013 Pete 389, Cummins ISX, a 270 wb and big bunk, 3 door vault behind that pulling a 53 Rit all aluminum step (w slide axel) all gear and fuel/def topped up. empty weight was 34,800

    same set up, just a 2010 with a C-15 was only 400 lbs lighter

    Not sure.

    Something I have to think about. I may try to put a driver in it. May sell it. No one is going to pay what I think its worth. Its a cosmetically lacking Columbia.

    Smaller sleeper does not automatically mean a lighter weight truck. My truck has no sleeper but I will bet that it weighs about what yours does bobtail. My truck bobtail is just a touch over 24k.

    I know that I have some extras like 46k rears and a drop axle but this truck does NOT have a double frame and I only pack about 150 to 170 gallons of fuel. I think that I put 170 gallons in one time and was praying the whole way to the truckstop. The tank on the driver's side is 1/2 hydraulic fluid but has been emptied now because the wet kit was removed. But I am looking for fuel at 5-600 miles... LOL

    I just had an idea about what I could do with the empty hydraulic part of the tank.... Hey @Rontonio I had an idea of what to do with the empty hydraulic tank since mine is split.... Carry fuel for pony motors.

    For those that carry 300 gallons of fuel..... Why? You can only drive around 600 miles anyhow so why carry an extra 1,000+ pounds of fuel when you are stopping every day anyhow? It does make sense for teams but even then you still need to stretch those legs once in a while.

    I have been slowly gathering info for spec'ing a truck for myself and I saw this early on, I do not need to carry 300 gallons of fuel. Heck I could probably go all the way down to 150 gallons at 4 mpg and be fine. Heck, even door slammers at 6-7 mpg can go with 150 gallons of fuel and be fine with enough left over to idle all night so that we can get another anti idle thread started. It's been a while.

    For all the MPG Nazi's, when you pull stuff like this, the last thing you worry about is fuel economy. (Hint: The front of the trailer is on the left side of the photo.)

    What does a dozer like that weigh? And what does the whole trailer setup weigh by itself if you don't mind me asking?

    The dozer itself weighs around 80-85k. The truck and trailer weigh 64k empty so the trailer itself is 40k.

    Your weight problem grows exponentially . More weight -more trailer -more axles -more weight- more trailer more axles lol

    Pretty crazy to have half the weight into the trailer as the load.

    I have had 97k on that trailer but that is about max. You can go a little more if you can balance it but not much.
