I have a interview tomorrow in NY UPS Freight pulling for a customer, Ferguson, so you get mileage plus hourly and stop pay? Manager also said I would be home everyday and can take truck and trailer home

Sounds like truckload to me. Go up a few pages back and you'll see some of the posts on truckload.
-
Gotta be truckload. No LTL driver takes that rig home.
-
Not at UPSF anyway. I don't know too much about truckload other than what everybody else mentioned , and from what I heard, I really don't wanna know.
-
Could you elaborate on the pay? UPSF truckload is sort of like a secret/backdoor/other dimension division which i know nothing about. Yet i do see truckload trucks occasionally when i go to other terminals.Mike2633 Thanks this.

To clarify, i am looking for a daytime linehaul run and may even consider relocating for it. i'm running a nightime linehaul run because it opened up recently. And yes, this run does not have huge mileage----maybe 300-340 miles a night. Still fantastic money though.
The new bids are next week and it's doubtful i'll keep this run as i'm pretty low on senority. i think maybe one of the reasons why no one bid on this run when it opened up was for family/personal reasons as it was rather unexpected, not during the usual bidding times.
IF on the outside chance i am able to do this run again, would i take it? i'm not sure as the late night hours are the only thing making me reconsider. -
Yeah, I don't blame you. Night work is something you definitely have to get use to. Sometimes money isn't everything. At least with P&D, it's daytime work with weekends off. And you make a good salary as well, that's top rate that is. Hard to resist a job like that.

I was wondering, have you noticed Truckload or O/O's starting to take over some of the linehaul? Or is it just a rumor?
-
Unfortunately yes. Will comment later as i find out more.

You might wanna hop on Mikes thread. We got a good conversation going on about truckload.....
