    #### that's crazy. 99 super 10's. Pepsi here in Philly only has 3 manuals left in their sideloader fleet and they are 6 speeds. 60 hours sounds like good money. Do they pay overtime or double time?

Yeah I know, Coke consolidated bought out our former owner back in October and everyone under them has nice equipment, so hopefully we'll get some new trucks in the coming future..

But they pay OT after 40hrs so that's a huge plus..

I'm a side load driver for coke in NYC and we make way more than the bulk drivers .

Bulk drivers here make about $25 hour and side loaders make base pay plus commission and some overtime

    Pintlehook and Mike2633 Thank this.

What's that like being a side loader driver in NYC that's got to be one of the hardest jobs out there? How many Rite Aids do you do, because there's like a Rite Aid on every corner in NYC.

Will Coke Consolidated in Knoxville, TN hire and train you with just a CDL-A Permit?

Sometimes yes and sometimes no. Usually the guys who they train have worked there for a year or 2 in the warehouse or as merchandisers.

Not any more. Not usually. They used to train warehouse guys out at the Springfield warehouse, to get there CDL, but the people who make sure were compliant with DOT regulations a couple years back decided that we were going to quit training people to get there CDL's.

Now we do hire brand new drivers I mean straight from school brand new, the company has no issue doing that at all, but they no longer train people to get there CDL's.

You have to have a CDL first, I haven't seen them make many exceptions to this. The only other way you could get in is if they had a van driver position open, but it would still be on you on your time on your money to get your CDL.

Management at the local levels I think was happy when GFS decided they were no longer going to train people to get there CDL's because it is a major pain in the rear end for them and a big time commitment and one of our drivers used to be an ATM boss and he said it's an absolute pain getting someone ready for the CDL test, so they were happy to be done with it. Plus you had to be vetted and stuff first if you were just a random off the street person they would never have trained you, you had to know someone to begin with.
