Thanks bone! How much more expensive are the parts for volvo than Cummins or Detroit? Are those parts /engines Swedish or American made? Since they say those same engines are in Mack as well.

Forget about swedish parts. Most of the parts now made in mexico or china. There are only assembly plants left in US.

My good friend and I both started driving at the same time about 2.5 three years ago. We have both had three different trucks with Cummins 2012 and newer. That's six trucks total. Knock on wood I have never been in the shop for anything except PMs.

Everyone of his trucks has had work that put him in a motel for a few days.

I now driven a MaxxForce for five months knock on wood with now problems. Although, I think the clutch is going.

He bought a 2012 KW with Paccar with 350k miles and within 60 days he replaced injectors.

I say all that to say it's luck of the draw. My best advice is find a mechanic you trust. When my buddies dash lit up like a Christmas tree and derated he went to KW and they printed out the codes. Six or seven of them.

They said well we can start with the cheapest one. He said reset the computer and I'll drive on. After they advised him not to they did it.

He drove to Houston where his mechanic is and his mechanic said its the injector. $3,000 and 60 days later no reoccurring issues.

Everything will break who fixes it is the difference.

Finally settled with a 2017 kenworth t680. 450 Cummins isx. 3.36 rears. It's a 500k miles warranty. ..that's all that matters. Oh yeah. .13 speed

True everything does break, but it's the frequency of the failures is what matters.

The Post Emission trucks of today are nothing more then Shop Queens intended to make the Shop or Mechanic money instead of the Owner of the truck, simple as that.

Even if you have a Warranty, your truck is still out of service for a few days.......days that the wheels could be turning making you money.

Good choice!! Just do the regular oil changes every 15-20k, dont do like they want every 40k miles. Also coolant filter change every 20-30k miles. I cut mine after 45k miles it was full and all black. 20160407_112809.jpg

I have an isx15 2350, not deleted. I get 8.6 to 9.1 mpg, and I haven't had to do any major repairs. I guess I'm just lucky.
