I'd guess maybe half the docks I'm in, there's room to swing the doors open after I'm lined up. If not, it's a quick pullup and straight back to do it.

I did drive my pickup into a parking garage a week ago, and I got very nervous with 7'6" clearance, even knowing my truck is roughly 6'6".... I was ducking as I drove, just in case there was a low spot....lol

Long story short they got my info at the receiver prime says its a preventable which i agree o should of been more aware, My plan was to leave prime mext month, will that affect me getting hired at other places?. thanks in advance

I don't think so. Most advertisements I see say no more than 2 preventable' s, some even say 3, in the last 2 or 3 years.
You definitely have a leg up on a lot of people, by owning your incident, people respect that a lot more than you think.

There are so many people getting into the business that have never had to use their brain, and cant mentally make the adjustment to a truck size vehicle. Like the guy that hit the motel overhang. Even with a condo, that overhang would be close enough to the level of the windshield to make a driver nervous. Hitting an overhang would say to me that the guy couldn't make the mental adjustment.

You drive a tanker. You pulled a box. You make adjustments according to the load, the weather...etc. You do it automatically.

(and someone is thinking)

No, I dont. Just because a driver is a rookie doesnt mean he wont adjust his driving habits to his load and road conditions. This is something that people should be able to do driving cars.

Yeah thats the thing 12 months of ni incidents and to mess up a month before sucks i really try taking care of my driving record.

Do those trailer tail things even help fuel economy? To me they just seem like an unnecessary burden, one more thing to break.

Actually more and more shippers and receivers are building their docks so that they can open the doors from the inside , so you just take your lock off close the trailer tail if you have them and back it in
