They now pay you to attend their school. I did their school in Jan 2015 so I don't know if repaying that if you leave is in the new contracts but they put you up.
I became an O/O in Sep15 and bought my truck outside of Roehl. If you get their truck you are really leasing for a few years with the option to buy it in a ballon payment so you are covering the depreciation. They get better MPG's than most other trucks out there because of the specs. There are enough cheaper used trucks out there with warranties so you may not want to go on the L/P plan. Mine was a Diamond Renewed Prostar.
People--including me--make money on their program. I think you really have to have your plan together because I don't know how much more you would make if you pay full freight for your health insurance and lose out on the company profit sharing if you stick around. My other job (Army National Guard) gets me cheap insurance and I wasn't around long enough to get in the profit sharing program. I made my plan to get in and figured I would eventually get my own Motor Carrier Authority (which I am doing). If that wasn't my plan I would have just rode it out until I could get on with Wal-Mart or other private fleet, become a trainer, or get on a dedicated account.
