Mainly chemical but not all Hazmat. Hot oil, anhydrous, some gas and Diesel, LP.

Mostly Macks and the only thing they hauled years ago that wasn't haz-mat was oil emulsions for road sealing and you probably will have to haul hot asphalt cement. Lots of hauling tanker to hot mix plants.

A few o/o. Knew a guy working there, guess he's still there.

In the summer that is. Small part of what they do. Spring and fall is anhydrous season followed by LP. During these 2 seasons is where you make the $$$ running exempt from HOS regs. Run til you're tired, shut down and sleep a few hours, rinse/repeat.
    They also do Gas/Diesel.
Based in Charles City with a yard and dispatch in Dubuque as well. Husband/Wife owners along with Shamrock Truck & Trailer Repair also located in both cities.
Newer Macks. Pay per mile could be a little better for Hazmat but not bad with the load/unload pay and after sitting 1 hour. BCBS insurance, matched 401K, and 2 life insurance policies if you take the health insurance. Otherwise 1. Company paid.
Overall everyone I've talked to so far likes it there.
Signed on myself 2 weeks ago. So far, I like it as well. Living in Dubuque, I'll be home most nights during the summer.
My days of OTR pulling vans are a thing of the past. With the way the industry is today with all the new regs and steering wheel holders driving rates into the ground running for peanuts cuz they think they're owner ops (fleece ops) getting a free pos truck, I wanted out. Don't miss it one bit either.
Best move I ever made. Good to be home having a life again!
