From what the drivers say that pull doubles; it will spoil you. Most linehaul the doubles setup will be waiting for you at each terminal; this way you just drop & hook. That's not to say you sometimes may have to help the yard man hook a couple of trailers together for you, but most of the time just drop & hook.
-
Do they back them in anywhere or just all drop and hooks?
-
No driver I know has had to back a set of doubles. @blairandgretchen

I did doubles for the dreaded F.E. place many moons ago, ground thru a contractor, and no. Sucked to team, but never had to back. Did it a time or three to see if I could, LoL. . . . don't miss those puppy days. Tanking is the means to the mode nowadays, for me!
-
There's a reason that place is called FedWrecks. The linehaul companies I listed don't have that problem. I like tankers also, but I like coast to coast tanker work.
-
Actually, you get into pulling doubles, you wont ever want to go back to 53'. They turn easier and ride better than a straight trailer. You just have to watch where you pull in with them cause you cant back them far without unhooking. Course, Ive seen a couple of guys back them before.

Mr. OBX Thanks this. -

What's the test like for the doubles endorsement test?
-
Google : Free cdl practice tests Virginia
Doubles test is on there and it's very simple test. -
I figured I should look there. I did the same for hazmat/tank, did well on the practice, and breezed through the tank at DMV. But hazmat gave me trouble.
