How about coming in every other weekend what kind of miles can you get that way? Do they really run out to Denver and Texas or is that just far and few between?

I went to Texas last week. Solo runs as far as Kansas. We don't have a lot of loads going that far. maybe 10 to 20 per week between 400 drivers. So you really just have to luck up. Most CT drivers run NE. Some don't like myself but most run CT, MA, NJ, and NY on a weekly basis. As I've said a thousand times in this thread, It just depends on your dispatcher. While you'll see us on here saying freight is slow. That's really not most of the problem. Our customers HAVE freight but they are using lower priced carriers. Lot's of them use us as a second choice carrier being we are more expensive. If there is a slight slow down it causes our drivers to feel it first being we are only used as an over flow carrier.

What I had hoped would be a 2400 mile week finished with 2111 as weekend dispatch lost a haul which would have paid me more miles and got me closer to the house instead of having to dead head from Winston Salem to the house for free. Left the house yesterday afternoon for a Rocky Mount QVC to Charlotte Lasership. Was supposed to be a drop and hook, but ended up being a live unload of 2200 boxes. 4 and a half hours later at 1 am, I head to the terminal to swap back out to my truck which was towed last Friday afternoon from Winchester VA for tranny codes, and go to sleep after 3am. Up at 10 am and was given a yard load going to Millstone Township NJ. 600 miles. Hooked up and left. 30 miles into it, the engine lights show up and pulled into the TA in Mocksville NC. Called the shop and head back to the yard. And wait.....could this be a sign? As in end might be near?

I wouldn't want to be run as a regional driver as it happens there at Cargo. To me it would never be a good fit. I know some guys that work there they say it's a pretty cool place everything is pretty good but the miles n paycheck inconsistent. Besides they are working their butts off over there to earn in living. Check out Zenith Logistics.

Not too bad of a week considering I didn't leave until lunch time Tuesday. 2 loads to Boston Hights ,OH And 2 loads to Lowes in Garysburg, NC. Ran the exact same run twice! 2128 miles for the week. No complaints this week.
