    This,..

I'd rather pee in a bottle than go into any of the truck stops in Laredo.

My wife and I stopped in at the Loves once. Both of us needing to use the rest rooms. Both of us walked out disgusted,.. and left to use rest rooms at a McDonalds which was also pretty gross.

Was at the Flying J to get gas for my generator and the topic came up of how gross the restrooms are at Laredo truck stops. Girl behind the counter said it was because people are poor. I responded then it should behoove people to keep what they have looking nice. Not trash and destroy everything. I grew up poor,.. I know what its like. You took care of what you had because chances were,.. you were not going to get another.

Poor people trash truck stops because they are poor,.. seriously?

Laredo has absolutely no redeeming qualities whatsoever.

Everything here moves at a pace that's slow even by Mexican standards.

Yeah man I am from Colorado originally and I finally asked my Mexican girlfriend after we just met if it's a cultural thing in Mexico that people put their dirty toilet paper in the trash instead of the toilet.

She told me that the plumbing in Mexico isn't as good as here and toilets clog easily and that it likely why I see toilet paper in the trash can instead of the toilet.

Just about every single bathroom near the border has a sign in the stall in both English and Spanish explaining that toilet paper should be disposed in the toilet.

It honestly thru me for a loop. Even in the oilfields at the salt water l disposals there would be dirty toilet paper in the trash in the bathroom

Ive been on the road long enough to see all of my usual truckstop haunts destroyed and paved over by a costco or something else these days.

The Little Rock Petro is the best I can hope for these days with the Earle TA a second favorite.

I am very grateful that I have a pallet jack in my trailer. Because if I had to rely on the forwarders to unload me I'd be in Laredo all week long.

At one forwarder I don't even let the fork lift drivers in my trailer because they just #### #### up. They really don't like me there. Come up with every reason why me and helper can't be on the dock.

So I said #### it and started telling my helper to jump in the back of the trailer after opening the doors and I leave just enough room for me to squeeze in and up the side after bumping the dock.

And then when they say "YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED ON THE DOCK!" I let em know I'm not on there dock I'm in MY trailer. Drops go really fast there now. Lol.

My biggest gripe about Laredo is honestly the traffic. Timid drivers need not apply to work in Laredo. Youd never get anywhere.

I will say this about laredo. Definitely come to a stop at those stop signs. Ask me how I know. ;)

It depends a lot on where you lived in Mexico. If you grew up middle to upper class in a large city, you usually didn't have that plumbing problem.

If you grew up in a rural, more poor area, that's a different story.

As we all know, the day's events can dictate where we park for the night. But as a rule, I try not to spend the night at the big 5. We fuel exclusively at P/FJ, so that's where I shower. I used to shower 1st thing in the morning. Now I stop somewhere and shower in the middle of the day during my 30 min break. As for the night, I try to park at the small places. I've got a bunch of favorite hidey holes that match up to the lanes I run. And, the places I frequent let me refill my PhilMor for 50 to 75 cents, if they charge me at all. I really hate the megas.
