In my experience, the radios I hear the furthest are stock cobra 29's with Factory antennas on new trucks (metal trucks only)
or Marks customers.

The Volvo cab is all steel from the bottom of the roof cap down. Almost all other modern trucks use mostly fiberglass, with some aluminum framework.

I have much better luck with a steel cab than an aluminum cab.

60 miles out of a Volvo 770 or 30 miles out of a Peterbilt 379. Which would you rather have? I'd take the Volvo 770 any day of the week

Sorry about that but after hearing so many speak for so many years about how this guy or that trick is an end all solution, it is hard not to speak up. You really got to get that people are not just defensive about CB crap but really get angry so I'm abrasive.
I would rather have an educated person go into a shop and buy things that work than to depend on those who only care about selling something to just sell it and make a buck.
The entire project I did was done out of frustration hearing blaming of the truck, it isn't all the truck and it was done twice now with another cascadia and soon to be done to a couple macks and another freight liner. The performance is just great and I hesitate to post a lot of detailed info because others have either a stake in their opinion or don't want to believe any different that it is the truck.Diesel Dave, darthanubis, rabbiporkchop and 1 other person Thank this. -

At no point in time have I ever said one solution is the right answer for all vehicles.

At no point in time have I ever recommended for people to go to someone who only cares about selling something to make a buck. Quite the opposite actually.
I only recommend that people educate themselves about amplitude modulation and develop the knowledge necessary to discern whether a potential "tech" has the capability to produce a waveform like the one in this picture before throwing away their hard earned money.
Your cynicism and failure to recognize the importance of the contents of this picture
combined with your statements like "lots of people can do that work" don't help anyone make an educated decision but rather muddy the waters making it more difficult for forum members to make an informed choice.
