I have a question about employment history. Should I get the exact dates I worked at jobs from social security or something and if so how far back should I go? Second question; I've had many jobs some I was only at for a month or less because I started it then got a better job offer. Should I mention those or omit that information? I'm at the end of my first week in cdl school but don't want to burn any bridges by applying now. I have a resume I've been using for regular jobs and I haven't had a problem with work history on any applications even though I haven't been 100% on the dates and have ommitted short lived jobs. Thanks in advance

you have to account for 10 years....all jobs that you got paid for.
get whatever info you can from SS, and from this day on, buy a small note book, a pocket sized one, and put all the information in that, for your future.
any time you cannot account for, may be a problem, if more than say 3 months. one or 2 days, don't sweat it. -
You have to give them 10 years. Make the dates as close to correct as possible but it does not have to be perfect. Just don't act like you are hiding anything. Remember companies hire folks from overseas where nothing can be proved.
They have to verify 3 years. That you need to be good on. -
Month/Year is adequate. An application for any FMCSA regulated position requires 10 years work/unemployed history, or back to date left highest education, whichever is applicable

Ive skipped a few of the short term jobs ive had on applications...just scoot the dates together and hope thier not picky...never had a problem..
BUT !! A pal was just passed over for a LTL job because he messed up the job history..He didnt put a 30 day job, where he actually was inspected by DOT which came up on report which made employer think he was hiding something.. -
Go ahead shine up that 6 year stretch as an inmate as WORKING FOR THE VA GOVERMENT !
-
That is not wrong at all! Exactly right!

Just to be clear, it is a ten year driving history as per 383.35. There are no other time frame's in this regulation. No 3 years etc etc. It is true however that some carriers are happy with 3 year general work history but there is no rule mandating it or a rule mandating said carrier to verify.

Here is a question. What if your DAC says "no employment history found" but they (Hireright) have drug test information from a specific past employer? Passed drug tests BTW.
