You have to comply with all gun laws everywhere you go. The most certain way to be in compliance is be a retired law officer with a badge. EVERYTHING else gets you SOME LEVEL of compliance, depending on your gun/ammo & location. THERE IS NO EASY WAY TO COMPLY EVERYWHERE.ajohnson Thanks this.

I asked this a while back and the best plan I came up with is find a gun store that would hold it for you. If they won't just hold it even with a fee then it's time to get it cleaned. Make your delivery and then go back and get it.
Too much hassle for me but I flatbed so I have my claw hammer in my door, big ### breaker bar and crowbar in the side box.horsecrazychic22 Thanks this. -
Keep mags 10 rounds or less, no hollow points, find a good hiding spot for it, comply with each States laws, don't cross a border with it. Don't carry outside of your truck in a state that doesn't have a reciprocal agreement with the state in which the permit was issued. It was always my understanding that if you are simply traveling through a state, and the firearm is legally owned, it should not be an issue. While traveling, I would keep the mag separated and the weapon in a locked case. If asked by an LEO if you have any weapons on the truck, I would answer honestly.

I think that's pretty good advice but nj gets special mention. They are very very strict on their laws and I don't believe you will get safe passage.

The irony of me not getting safe passage well thanks for the advice guys guess I will keep thinking around it mabe it will get fixed someday.

Unsure about prisons. All military bases will secure the gun. And you better tell them you have it when you pull up to the gate.horsecrazychic22 Thanks this.

Also, there is another way to get a ccw for all states. Be military police in Air Force or navy. We get a very special permit. Granted, takes a little extra work than just an application, but very useful as a truck driver.
Too bad sni doesn't allow guns in company trucks -
