I was with FFE from 5/13-9/14 and would have stayed had I not been lost in the merger and by virtue of having signed one of the industry indentured servitude contracts.
School was top notch and probably still is if Greg Peace is still running things. Training was great. Solo started rough mainly due to a criminally negligent dispatcher, but picked up after I got wise and started calling planners directly.
My very first message on the peoplenet after getting my own truck was: "KLLM is buying us, get ready for change." I don't know what FFE was like before that message but I can tell you that morale went to hell after it. I think a lot of people knew that they were going to get laid off and their response was to just check out and do the bare minimum.
Oddly enough where I'm at now we have a number of old FFE dispatchers and they are real aggressive in getting their fleets miles and doing what it takes to keep things moving.
Having been in trucking for a min now I have to acknowledge how unusual FFE was on the industry landscape. Exclusive temperature control fleet with a nation wide LTL network. Obviously KLLM fills the role now but I can't think of anyone else save maybe Marten.
Anyone in here currently working for FFE?
