Sitting here at the Kroger DC in Houston. Appt was for 1900 and....I'm still here waiting for my trailer to be unloaded. Then I got a load I'm picking up at the Houston dropyard and going to El Paso.

I didn't notice the name of the place, but at a Love's on I-70 near the IN OH border.
Nice day except for a few jerk 4 wheelies.

I deliver in Romeoville tomorrow at 1000, and I have my next load already.
Freight seems to be getting better, which is very nice.

A Costco load headed for WI at 1100 Sunday.
This being a holiday weekend I expect to sit for a day, but who knows.
Last year I was stalled for the entire weekend.

I get my youngest daughter on board with me in less than 2 weeks. I really hope I get moved around a lot for the next couple months so she can see the country.

    Morris, IL.

I had some bad luck this morning.
During my pre-trip I noticed a burned out headlight bulb. The Love's I was at didn't have one so I headed out to find one..
As soon as I got on the highway I was pulled over for it. Indiana State Police.
No citation, but a warning and Level 3.

    Charlie Mac Thanks this.

Yay, Memphis is slow. Wish I had some Woodford Reserve.

Grand Junction, CO. My first 4-state day in quite a while. (NV-AZ-UT-CO)

What sucks is that this load is a live unload in Denver. On Tuesday. I could have made Denver today, but I prefer truck stop showers to terminal showers. Besides, I have three days to go those 255 miles.

There are truck stops with decent showers in Denver, although you may have to wait an hour in line to get it.

Freight seems to be getting better in the past week, so hopefully you won't have those kind of loads any more.

Just south of Green Bay, WI.
I called a planner earlier and was told to expect to sit until Tuesday.
I am 3rd on the list but there is nothing today or tomorrow. It's about what I figured would happen this weekend.
At least I had a short load today.

TA East Denver, aka Commerce City, CO.

Rolled in around 4 PM yesterday to find the lot completely full. Even the paid parking was full. Ended up parked on a side street about a half mile from the TA. Pulled in at 7:30 or so this morning to find the lot still full. Managed to be in the right place at the right time about a half hour later when another truck pulled out.

Saw three police cars and an ambulance pull up to a truck, no lights flashing. Heard the words "In the sleeper" as I passed by. Didn't watch for the coroner to pull up; didn't want conformation of what their body language told me.

The restaurant is nice; no buffet, though. My laptop doesn't like the WiFi, but then, it usually doesn't. The phone's happy with it.

I'll be happy to be rolling on my next load. This five day, 1000 mile trip is killing me financially. I need another 800 miles to break even this week; the slow freight this Spring has wiped out my reserve.

On the plus side, it's taken me down a new road for me; I had never run I-70 west of Denver. The drive in from Grand Junction was gorgeous

    Subutai and Moosetek13 Thank this.

Check it out - the worlds longest semi-tractor.
And it is parked here at the the truck stop I'm at.
Very impressive. It has living quarters both in the truck and the trailer.
