He used to install the 2SC2999 in the front end of all of the radios but lately he said that he only uses it on some of them and he can accomplish the same results on several radios without using the low noise High gain transistor.
It's possible he may have used it in this one but definitely no schottky diodes.

 

Just watched the video again and he was pointing to a surface mount component.
I'm not sure what it was

 

Whatever it was we will never know.
He is very secretive about how he achieves the results he does.

 

This is for the "techs" out there that think B&K or Sencore rf generators are capable of doing the job.
