I wouldn't mind. As long as you don't ask for money it's all good.:biggrin_25525:

Just as you can see from the responses on this site...........It is a gamble either way as the result solely due to the fact of the nature of people.

Their was a time when you could pick out a truck driver at the truckstop. (All of them) Now you can't always pick them out. People who under normal circumstances would have never driven a truck or even considered it is now doing it due to financial or other reasons.

After having been on the road for the relative short time compared to some I have met some nice people and of course some--------
    THE NATURE OF PEOPLE
I have sat next to some guys/ladies that would not even speak......... and others who have talked my ear off.

When listening to a person in person.........you can get a better judgment as to whether the story they are telling is accurate, biased, or just total BS........... It is of course another form of research so I say go for it.

    Good luck...........................J.............:biggrin_2558:

Please return to this forum and let us know results of your foray into truck stop conversation.

I did it at a Michigan truck stop. Only spoke to one trucker (about the only one around, actually), but he was friendly and informative.

Last week I was sitting in a rest area in NC. In less than an hour I had three different women come up to my truck and ask for gas money. Every one of them had some bs hard luck story.

Because of all the bad things that go on in this world of ours, a lot of people are very cautious when strangers want to come up and start asking questions.
You may find people who will answer your questions, and others who will want to avoid you.

This is of course for another discussion but,.............

Things are only going to get worse...........more and more and more people are losing everything............

I was watching the Orielly show on fox in the truckstop while eating today
......long story short as I can..........some fued between John Edwards and O'reilly about some coments Edwards made.........about homelessness in the US. as pertains to veterans but they used the term
"critically homeless" ...............Now putting aside the issues of mental illnesses and addictions............what the H---- is that..........So if you are just living in an abandoned house you are not critical..........or you have the shelter of a bridge overpass............I you have no home / living on the street.........you are homeless...........If you have to go to a shelter you are probably homeless.......to most degrees...........

    Sorry..........needed to vent a minute...........:biggrin_2552:

Were they referring to "chronic homelessness"? as in guys that can NEVER get off the street no matter what?

    What is critical homelessness?
