I remember the gal at the permit office tell me when I purchased an annual permit for 175,000 on 8 axles that I could max out. Didn't ask how much.

Amazing, I think Illinois you can get 25,000 per axle so you can get 75,000 on a tri group. In Ohio we get 60,000 on a tri, 80,000 on a quad but we get 50,000 on a tandem. When I talked to the state I brought up the "sprit of the law" I told them we're not trying to haul two machines or a build up load of material, but what sense does it make to have a trailer that's unnecessarily long possibly scuffing curbs and being hard on pavement and tires for a lite load. They aren't interested in common sense.

Loaded this up this morning, had to leave bucket behind. Wasn't able to curl it enough to get down inside the boom trough, was 15'4" before dropped bucket. Was going to move machine back a bit and put bucket down in the well but for how far I would of needed to move it I would of been way over on truck. Ended up 17,700 steers 59,160 pusher/drives and 64,720 trailer quad. Had to slide 5th wheel all the way forward image.jpg image.jpg

Skooter here's a trick for thought
Next time put more blocking under the front of your machine. Changes the pitch of your boom and stick. Thus allowing the boom to be lower

TripleSix, macavoy and skootertrashr6 Thank this.
