A Peterbilt gets you a smaller sleeper and obstructed views out of your mirrors when backing up.

Give me a Volvo or Freightliner

    rabbiporkchop and lilillill Thank this.

I hate to say it slim but my experience with this cascadia this far,im liken the volvo a lil more...They all have issues no doubt but seems the volvo is put together better..Only reason at this point of running a cascadia is the room in the bunk..All our company volvos have the smaller bunk and fridge than the cascadia...MPG is close to the same, less noise but i do hate the effing dash of the volvo, its not a truck dash cause it looks like something for a car..I like lotsa switches and gauges myself..

I prefer Volvo. Unfortunately Walmart company trucks are Freightliner, International, Peterbilt, or Kenworth. Occasionally, a driver chooses a Western Star as his 3 million Mike safe driving award, but no Volvos.

I never driven a Volvo. I've always heard they weigh more which makes sense if they are all steel.

Seeing as how this thread was started for me (although I had no intentions of bringing my issues to the board until I figured out what the problem was,) I'll jump in with some numbers and hope that I can get some help figuring things out. The problem being very poor TX and RX with not just my MS tuned radio but my stock Cobra 29 as well. By very poor I mean often less than 2 miles RX and rarely more than 4 miles TX/RX on a regular basis with my 98 vhp. 7 miles once. But again it's the same issue with two radios so it's obviously a connection/installation issue.

14 Prostar. Predator 10k dual coil short whip mounted to upper mirror arm and grounded to door.

    Numbers on the ohm meter:
From barrel of cb end of coax to bare metal of door = open.
From barrel to bare metal of door jamb (cab) = 4 ohms.
From bare metal of door to door jamb = 2 ohms.
And weirdly, from cb end of coax barrel to negative lead of radio power wire = open.

Attached is a pic of my analyser reading. Please help.

    Pics of antenna on truck?

    Should tune for x=0
    disregard swr
I never saw a negative reactance number before.
I would try a 102" whip and see if that helps.

"And weirdly, from cb end of coax barrel to negative lead of radio power wire = open."
That doesn't seem right if both are grounded
