Hauling shingles to residential customers....

    Just got a job offer for hauling shingles out of the DFW to local customers

    Home everyday
    250/day flat rate
    Weekends off.

    Iv never done flatbed or unloading using a piggyback so I'm not really sure if this is a good deal they are willing to give me a quick training on doing this

    Probably a 40' with moffet on the back, if its preloaded, and curbside drops, easy money. Depending on the hours. Get as close as you can, drop the moffet, unstrap and pick. Drive to house, set down pallet, reload and re secure lose pallets. Move on.

    If it's in new subdivision being built on top of each other etc. it's just a big headache. I hated driving a concrete truck in an out of a hundred workers parked both sides of the road etc.

    Yeah that sucks, but if hes got a moffet, he can park a block away and drive it up. (Assuming curbside)

    Basically my money says, if its preloaded, and curbside, and less than 11 hours a day, with a chance to take lunch, and at least ok benefits, why not try it.

    My boss is going to get more info for me it's a brand new account opening only 2 trucks right now and their biggest focus is just making the customer happy.

    My boss did say it was residential/business deliveries but I'll find out the inside scoop

    See that's my biggest thing...this is going to be a 50 mile one way trip so if it's 14/hrs day everyday it's gonna suck

    Yup. So it depends, most job sites shut down by 3, i run local pipe to job sites, im 4 am to 1 pm. But im hourly, union shop, yada yada...

    I imagine since it's a trail run account (it's a new Jb hunt account) that the first few months will be 14/hr days then once I figure it out it won't be as bad.

    Iv already texted my boss telling her to ask them the questions you guys have asked me and I appreciate the quick response!
