So you're on paper logs and are at a shipper, you check in and wait in your truck for 4 hours until they give you a green light and you go get your bills.
Did you just post that you would log line 4 for the whole time?
I can't wait til everyone is on elogs meow. -
So let's say you got stuck in traffic for few hours and ran out of your 70 30 miles away from your yard, are you going to spend your weekend at a Truckstop? Or you ran out of time and now a factory production line is gonna be shutdown, because you are taking your 10 20 miles away? You people are full of ####, I don't believe it
Big John Classic HQ, wore out, jcrack08 and 8 others Thank this. -
not at all I was just letting then know if they don't want me sitting in the employee parking lot till around after noon tomorrow they need to get me unloaded....roshea Thanks this.

Do you unload your truck by hand or hire a lumper? The LAW explains both pretty well. No need to break the laws if you read them. Heck I run flats, we have longer times that we have to show on duty at a shipper or receiver so often I need to make sure I'm driving before and after a delivery to keep the DOT happy.
Now there are a million ways to fudge Elogs. Because of that I believe that people should stop worrying about them. They only keep you from doing 2 things. Driving more then 8 hours straight. And driving after the 14 hours from when you first started driving (if u know your going to push it then you can plan ahead)Highway Sailor and Bean Jr. Thank this. -
No I asked if he was doing that or logging off duty in traffic jams. Are y
you are a boss I tip my hat to you carry on driver lol -
OK, you were not trying to scare them, just warning, my bad...Wait, did it work?
-
Yes, I shut it down at a truck stop if I get stuck in traffic and my 14 or 70 will not allow legal delivery.
If the factory doesn't have a warehouse with a little extra in it, in case I'm late, well, they can have the workers grab a broom and clean up. Or send them home or run another product.
And since the Quallcom update, logging off duty in a traffic jam is almost impossible,Highway Sailor and flood Thank this. -
for me that can't happen.... i'm a O/O so "personnel use" will get me home..... for company drivers they just send a van out with a drive to bring the truck back to the yardI've bobtailed to get loads and take them a lot less than 20 miles when drivers have run out of time
-
Now you are a true independent O/o with one truck, who is gonna bobtail to rescue you?bigmotor1212, fordconvert and sliver Thank this.
