And I don't know if abf's trucks are that much better, afaik they still don't even get radio's, speakers, or antennas and wiring.

Slip seating sucks, and so do radio boxes.

I saw a Central Transport Peterbilt today at one of my customers. Had to do a double take!

Not like the days of my youth, when we had "Red Racers", Ford 9000 daycabs, similar to this.

And I thought Central Transport was OK. In Memphis you can see their little terminal from i240 if you're heading towards Lamar Ave/US78.

I didn't mind driving those L-model Fords at all.

If anything they felt solid and sturdy.

Seems like every Central truck that I pass lately is a NEW Peterbilt day cab. Kind of shocked me initially, but it looks like they got some new equipment.

Around here Central Transport has been advertising the same job for the last three years. They even hit up some radio stations with adds for hiring. They must have a hard time filling that driver's seat.

At our barn some were definitely better than others. The one I drove most of the time was OK, but there were several drivers who were tough, to say the least, on equipment. They would start earlier than me, and if they tore up a truck the day before, they just came in and grabbed the keys to mine. Until theirs was fixed, maybe a day, maybe a week or more. And the "spares" were definitely rode hard, put away wet.....

Kind of reminds me of my (very) short stint at ABF in Brooklyn.

I've seen newer CT Cascadias out and about before. Those old Sterlings are awful. ABF had a few of those and even the line units were banged out garbage.
