Hello All,
Ok, I am wanting to get some input on this one. So I have 3 simple questions for you to answer. Please include what company you work for now.
- What do you like most about the company you work for now?
- What do you dis-like most about the company you work for now?
If you didn't work for the company you are at now, who would you want to work for and why? Thanks for your time and opinions, I can't wait to hear what all of you think.

dealing with breakdown/ maint. issues. they dont give a #### what the trucks look like (no wash allowance, horrible body repairs)
hauling cars, i love cars and the pay is really good i hear -
What I like most about my company (ADM) is that although we are a very large company, our terminal is pretty small and everyone is good to work with for the most part. The pay is good, pretty good benefits, a pension plan, also a 401K.
What I dislike is the hours, nothing is ever the same except once every five weeks one person does one account for the week so we get to start at the same time five whole days in a row. Otherwise its all over the board, starting times anywhere from 1am to 10am or later, it can wear you down, at least it does me.
If I didnt work here I would like to work at Freightliner driving, where I was before, pay and benefits, good people, but I think thats a pipe dream........ -

Hey all, thanks for the few replies that have come in so far. I really enjoy reading what you drivers think. I look forward to reading more, remember to include your company name, thanks.

I drive for Heartland Transportation from Estherville Iowa. I like driving for a company small enough to know me by name and not be a number on the board.
I don't care for the fact that I have to request time off in writing and fax it to the office a week before the requested time off or I don't get home.
If I could go to work for another company I would choose A&R Transport, it's not just a job, but an adventure, where drivers can earn an average of around $60,000 a year without trying. -
I like the fact that I am home almost every single night and that the job is never the same. Everyday I go to work and have to deal with something completely new and different.
What I dislike is the fact that I get a lot of the crap jobs since I am the new guy at work, only been there 13 months.
If I did not have this job I would be in the military. -
I work For Eastern Freightways based out of North Brunswick Nj.
What I like best is that the people really care about me and my family. They have always given me time off when I needed it and never pressured me to come back early. Everyone in the office knows me and is always polite and respectful.
The thing I currently dislike about Eastern is they do not have apu's for the trucks (they do not complain about idle time yet so that is good) and the trucks are kinda small. I am running team for them now a days and I would really like a larger truck but all they have available is the small Volvo 610's.
If I did not work for Eastern Freightwyas I would try and get on with the ltl division of New Century. The pay and equipment is top notch with comparable benefits. I have contacted them in the past and even have an information packet with application "just in case." -
What I really like about this question is that it give me different things to look at, as far as what is important to one person may not be what is important to another. This show you that everyone is different and that there is no "1" right or wrong answer for everyone. For one person it may be the home time, another the miles, and yet another it might be seeing different areas of the country that they like. The dislikes are just as varried. Good luck to all, and keep the answers coming.
AfterShock Thanks this. -
1. its a large company, but i still get treated like a person.
2. No apu's on the company trucks and they like to gripe about idling too much to keep yourselves cool or warm
3. UPS... local, great pay, excellent benefits, nuff said
