I've been running for them for a little bit now out of Waco from what I can tell the SW Region covers the following. Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Missouri, Kansas and some Colorado.
As for the seniority thing, it does come into play, but at least in this region, they kind of deserve it. I mean, how many trucking companies do you know that have folks driven for them for 15-20 years? I've met several here. The job and it's benefits are THAT good, drivers stay instead of jumping on to the next gig.
And the part about getting into some of these stores? lmao, yeah, there are some really, really tight ones out there. Crazy doesn't even begin to describe it. But the directions your given are usually close, and a call to the store before you get there and simply asking them how the drivers usually pull it off tends to take care of most of the problems.
Schedules are usually out sometime on Sunday or early Monday then back late Friday or early Saturday, but you'll be home for your reset at a minimum. Keep in mind, your given 70 hours to drive for the week, and they will burn those hours. Waco also has some local shuttle type runs and those Drivers are home every day/night.
Plan on getting in shape. I'm down probably 20 pounds since I started. I'm not complaining, just it is a physical job. Double stacked pallets, as well as some of the others, can go around 1,500 -1,700 pounds which can get heavy if the parking lot isn't level and your moving them uphill.
Dispatch here is beyond solid. Actually eager to answer questions and to help out when they can. Once empty you may get back hauls or be told to dead head back to the yard for your next load out.
As I mentioned, the benefits are really strong, from the 401k to the stock purchase program to the health insurance, it's all pretty top notch. (Ins starts the first day of the month after you start. for example. start July 15th and your insurance will start on August 1st.)
One last thing, your paid for just about everything you do. From bringing empty pallets back to the yard, to putting fuel in the truck to picking up a back haul. It's all paid, and it adds up.
This isn't a job for a steering wheel holder, you will earn your $$$, but for me it's worth it.

Are you in Reno? I just did a zip search and they show several retailers in Reno that carry their beer.
I've never heard of Anchor but that doesn't mean they don't distribute to OH. -
And I just did a search for Anchor and it shows as being available in my regular grocery store. I'm not a big beer drinker and when I do, I grab my favorite. I very well could have looked at it and reached for my usual.

I'm in Sacramento, just finished training
I was hired as a Sacramento driver,meaning I begin and end my trips here,not Reno
At least that's what I was told
Looks like the joke is on me,if I want this job I apparently have to commute to Reno to work
I asked why can't I just catch a ride with the shuttle truck driver who brings a trailer 6 days a week to Sacramento so the local guy can do his deliveries?
They said there aren't any trucks going to or through Sacramento
