    Hey guys.

Gonna be heading to C1 training school in Indianapolis in a few weeks, I hope. I am very concerned about schlepping all the way to Indianapolis and failing the physical. Here's what I'm wondering; if I can get a doctor around here to administer a physical and sign off on me, does that make me ironclad and strip C1 of the ability to reject me for failing a physical?

I would say if you have any doubt, at least check it locally. Might save you a trip or it might be something you ca take care of. My BP was a little high, but I got some meds and it was better in a week.

No they will just make you retake the physical with their doc when you get there. If you think you are going to fail don't go.

The school wants you to pass, so their physicals aren't as rigorous as the ones you'll get with a company. Some companies really put you through your paces and will find (and document) every pimple on your butt. But the school will get you a certificate. Maybe not a 2-year card, but something to get you through training.

If that was true , what's the sense in getting a "certificate" to get through training then risk failing a more stringent company physical ?

IMO they jsut want you to get your CDL then move on, not all companies are as strick as others, in flatbedding you have to be physically fit, they dont want you to drop over lifting a tarp on a load, but with box and reefer, you just open your doors and you're done most times, unless you have to unload, all depends on the company, most times you should pass unless you know there is something wrong and dont admit it to them before time

    good luck

They'll tell you that's your problem. All they want is to get you your CDL.

Honestly, though the DOT standards aren't that high. If your blood pressure is under control and you don't pass out from diabetes, you'll be fine.

Eck. My Diastolic pressure varies from 95-110. Systolic, strangely, is usually under control.

I was a little elevated and cut caffeine, got some meds from the doc, and did meditation. Within a week I was fine and passed.
