I think it's great that @TAfool shared this data.

Is JCT the absolute best? Of course not.
Can you make easy money and not sacrifice personal time in the process? Absolutely.

It's a business. Run it as such.

JCT pays for a ton of stuff that other companies charge their drivers for:
Tolls, lumpers, scales, fuel tax, empty miles, pre pass, pike pass, ez pass, reefer fuel, permits, base plates, 2290.

Drivers pay for fuel and maintenance on their truck. Q com, insurance are minimal.

Now compare EVERYTHING and you'll see that 90¢/mile +fsc for ALL miles isn't such a terrible thing.

SlimPickens, TAfool and MachoCyclone Thank this.

I posted just what I thought was relevant for a major decision. There's lots of data that I may post over time; such as mileage impacts. One of the biggest factors for my mileage is not weight but weather. Head winds and standing water/snow are a huge drag.

As for my opinion on l/p, I may state it in the main jct thread and it will only concern jct as not all l/P's are the same (some are a complete rip-off while others are very fair).

I am sure the lease haters will crap all over this if they see it but hopefully it will remain mainly just facts.

I've said in several posts that as an l/p you should equal a well paid company driver and with the data from above one can determine if that is true or not. The benefits are realized at the end of the lease in terms of no more payments and the granting of the deferred compensation - the asset. Those two above and the fact that several options will now exist do lend credence that this may be a viable path.

L/P's are not easy (they aren't supposed to be), its not a vacation, camping or a fun relaxing time. 90% of all busnisses fail within the first year and starting an L/P is a business. What does that say about a potential lease completion? Think hard, long and clearly before jumping in.

I have the same expenses, get $1.04+fsc,loaded and mt,and load over 42000# pays an extra .04 CPM ,85% drop and hook, and last month I averaged ,39 CPM off the pump price.I have a close friend leased on at JCT, she does alright, but works twice as hard as I do for less money.

So?? One person's vinegar is another's wine. I was with jct and swear I'll never pull another reefer or go into another tyson or food warehouse. Some feel the same about tarping coils in blazing sun and humidity or bone numbing cold.

Then there are the drop and hook kings with orange trailers who think everyone else is crazy.

Enjoy what you have if you like it. Find what fits you if you don't.

Now I gotta find a load to tarp. :)

TAFool's data is pretty much spot on. Median average of about 32 to 35 cpm is what I'm profiting as well. Our discounts for fuel have changed this past year, but for the better I think. With fuel surcharge and rebates for PFJ fuel, I'm seeing a significant difference in lower fuel costs. I don't really like the method for getting the rebates via EFS card, but if it nets me more at the end of the day, I can deal with it.

It's still a bad lease deal with the cheap freight and in many cases low miles

JCT is horrible Takes you 5 years to own the truck, hauling for low rate per mile, and by the time you pay off the truck is almost worthless. I rather do the Ace lease at Prime and own the truck in 3-4 years, have around 420k or less miles when lease is done, and still have it under warranty. After last payment, the title can be picked up or mailed to your home. I've met multiple JCT drivers not clearing over $800 a week. I'll rather deal with any problems at PRIME than earn that Amy weekly and take 5 years to own geez.
