I don't know if they hire newBees or train drivers, but even if they don't, it might be something to aspire to after getting your training.
I see their Big trucks EVERYwhere in Riverside, San Bernardino, Orange, and Los Angeles Counties -- pulling dry vans, flat beds, and bulk, and I've yet to see a dirty truck.
Check 'em out and tell us what'cha think.

Thanks again! I had a neighbor who drove for Gordon. He and his wife were teaming at the time and seemed to like them okay from what I recall. They are on my list of possibilities. They hire newbies and offer tuition reimbursement. Don't know the specifics on pay yet but solo drivers are limited to the western region and the midwest. Only teams can run 48.

IMO, it wouldn't hurt to give 'em a call
and get more information. If their equipment is any indication of what the company is like, I'm thinkin' it's pretty good.
As I said before, I have yet to see a dirty Big truck with Gardner. Their tractors are 2 and 3 axle with polished aluminum wheels and look darned good.

One thing all you newbie's need to realise is most newbie's that start out with Schneider then either don't make it or quit is a result of them not being able to adapt to the lifestyle. It's not so much because Schneider is a BAD company. I am pretty much still a newbie as I only have 9 months experience and it was very hard for me for about the first 4 - 5 months.
I have to tell you, being a truck driver is not only a career choice but its also a lifestyle change and that is the hardest thing to adapt to for most people.
I have only been with Schneider but I definitely think if you can handle it that it is a great company to start out with to get a couple years of experience. They really "hold your hand" for the first little while and its a great feeling to know that you have the support that Schneider provides to new drivers. They know the mistakes you are going to make because they've probably dealt with the same things thousands of times before!Baack and AfterShock Thank this. -
Yes, Hogster. Actually I'm in the South Bay. I wasn't really interested in teaming, but I understand teams get the most miles and that's what I'm looking for right now. I figure thet worst thing is I put my time in, look for a solo gig with Schneider as a transfer or find another company. No biggie. I wish you good luck too.
