Seeing we are talkin ant stuff..I tested two different coaxs...Same day, same place, same truck and ant..All i did is switch coax..One was routed within my trk and other just hung out the door..Based on my testing with my mfj259b ,what one would you keep..

Top Antenna not even close second antenna is much better whatever it is.
Describe the first cable and describe the second cable. What type of cable are they and how long are they -
So your sayin top coax is better or worse..I thought it had better #'s.
-
The only better # on lower cable was the x(resonce)
-
Out of the three numbers that's the most important. Impedance is the second most important number and SWR is the least important number.
-
I know swr is but isnt really important but I always been tryin to get impedence down to 50ish..My r # 50 or lower and x as zero..
Anyways the top pic is my old coax and lower pic is from marks coax
Guess i have been stuck on getting that 50ohm impedence..Always though above 55 ohms was hirtin my output..rabbiporkchop Thanks this. -
Kinda at a loss though why the reflect is a good bit lower..Im sure the higer the coefficient of reflection #should be as high as i can get it in the 20's..Means reception does it not??

Sounds like old cable has Issues

No problem backing up just open door.I'll take a peterbilt 379,389 any day over a crappy freightliner or Volvo, quality pays lol
