so back in january I made a thread asking the trucker community some advice, while some responded with very helpful advice (thanks btw) others werent quite so nice.
so ive been with cr england from jan 11 to the date of this posting and for the 1st 3 months i was placed on the OTR fleet (which is team fleet only) and it sucked. i hated it and i was ready to jump ship if i wasnt given a solo postion. So they sent me CR englands walmart division in sparks, NV
basically england uses an office, fuel bay and parking space at the walmart DC to deliver walmart product to the walmart stores in central valley, bay area, upwards up to oregon and so on
i like that job it was solo, it wasnt too bad. barely any home time and it was very easy to do. Pay was half decent and i could see myself working there for 1 year or more.
however recently i was scheduled for home time on the 6/6 - 6/7 but on the 5th they gave me a load back hauling me back to the DC the next day, i accept it and it seems my home time (that i had scheduled with the boss) had been completely forgotten about. . .hhmm ok well i decided to just move my day off to the next day on the 6th and that way my home time would be issued to me, well that didnt pan out either, so i bumped it up the next day
*note: i recognize a day off as the day after i arrive home, ie: traveling to home doesnt count as a day off*

so, on the 7th day i was given a load with yet another backhaul (shocker) but this time, not wanting to be forgotten about i thought i would make a stand. so i completed the load i was given for the day and 30 minutes after i was done i called the office letting them know that i wasnt going to be able to run that backhaul (the next day) cuz i would be on home time, the guy that answered that phone call said "dont worry we're take care of it" thinking nothing of it i ended the call and took home time. . .

    well. . .

i get a call at 3pm on the 8th from my boss asking why i wasnt picking up that backhaul, i said i called the office in advance letting them know i wasnt going to make it. . .well she said the guy that answered the phone?
    - didnt even mention anything
    - doesnt remember a call about a backhaul and home time
    - has no knowledge of a call coming from my phone at or around 6:30 pm

so now I have this office jockey saying i never called while im on the other end saying i did. . .who you think they gonna side with? yeah looks like i just lost my job i guess =/

cuz now its his word against mine and i cant prove anything save for a call made to the office at 6:30 pm but the content of that call is anybodys guess as i cant prove anything. . .

CR England its been fun. . .

Well since you have a little experience you might want to explore other options. Do you really want to work for a company that treats you like that.

I doubt they'll fire you, but even if they do there's dozens of companies just waiting for you.

They were not too bad a company to start with four years ago. The wife and I went in together and did the lease op thing. We took home about two grand a week together once we realized how to run things. They served a purpose for us and our 18 months there weren't bad at all.
It seems that they have gotten a lot worse since then from drivers I've spoken to. They know that most just use them to get cdl and experience and are treating drivers how they seem fit I suppose.
I used to tell people looking to get cdl to call them, not anymore though.
For us CRE was a pathway into this industry and then a stepping stone to a much better place.

Always send a message, whether it's through Qualcomm or peoplenet, or your dispatchers email and wait for the reply and save it. That way you have documentation and a covered as s

I did that england mc carren, nv walmart fleet from 2006 to 2008 and actually did alright and home every other day. It was a pretty good little operation where we would talk to the dispatchers and head hancho almost every day. It was like a little company within a company. Back then we did vegas runs alot and then some over donner.
