Bahhhhahahaha! Hey how did I get pulled into this?
Thank you though, now I know trainers out there earn .30 a mile.
Didn't think such low pay exists...
Anyways 99% of lease deals through carriers do suck.
Don't throw me into that boat.
I have access to thousands of loads uploaded near contantly, most of which are direct contract customer freight. Paid on percent and it's point and click loads that get sent right to your truck.
Now how many other carriers offer all that? I rest my case.jeff18, Toomanybikes and Dabbing&Trucking334 Thank this. -
Just hold yer horses buddy ....
Obviously you like the OTR lifestyle and it seems like you have a good thick skin for this kind of work but if you get in a hurry about ANYTHING in this industry, it will cost you more than you think!
Forget about going home for starters, if you want to lease or own a shinney matiniance machine
You won't have a love life or solid friendships so forget about that too
The truck IS your home and will be your best friend and lover
BEWARE and " be on guard " of the fact that MONEY will try to be your God instead of your REAL God!
With that being said,
I would probably check out PRIME and try to get into moving tanker loads preferably milk or something not so hairy, if they have something like that, tankers don't sit around much in a truck stop parking lot, waiting and peeing around half the day getting the next load" in the wind "
Of course this is old school advice cause I haven't been on the road for a very long time because I have a family to raise and too many responsibilies at home to take care of
.... Hope you do good in whatever you decide on , just DON'T be in a hurry for anything NO MATTER what!
.... And a good close eye on those you do business with, they are not really your friends, just like any other business deal they have something you want and you have something they want also
You don't want to be the needy one in this relationship, you want to be one with all the value in this relationship, they will try to steer you into being the needy one but if you are calm and cool and sometimes kindve friendly but firm and reasonable about things , you can do alright just nothing to write about
Hope this helps you alittle more and I don't mean to be mean with you or pop your bubble wrap but Forget about going home if you choose this route
.... And ps
Get the heck away those people at warner, you ARE above them now and the ball is in your court now, sure they don't want to loose you , they NEED YOU to drive their equipment in order to have their OWN jobs
... Bless you brotherLone Ranger 13 and Dabbing&Trucking334 Thank this. -
Your right thanks man

I thought Werner paid OTR .35cpm now. Did I read it correctly that when solo you only get 1500-2000 miles per week? If true you must not have a family to take care of.
-
That's what they paying me man that's why I'm leaving soon in no I'm not married with no kids so no family just bills
-
I've said it once and I'll say it again. Get on that TBC account out of Memphis if you stay with Werner!Dabbing&Trucking334 Thanks this.

I was a trainer at Werner for 3 years. I saved up $60,000 and bought a truck cash. I stayed a while after that not knowing any better and made decent money. I wouldnt train if you got your own truck. I did for a little while after and then when my clutch went out I was done. If you do decide to get a truck and stay make sure you get your own fuel card. Werner does not pass on the fuel discount so they are stealing from you.
snowlauncher, Lone Ranger 13 and Dabbing&Trucking334 Thank this. -
It's driving for gods sake, not rocket science, no trainer time needed so anyone can be a trainer since it's only for insurance and not out of need. If you need a trainer, you're over your head and low on brains.Canned Spam, Lone Ranger 13, ramblingman and 1 other person Thank this.
