That's exactly what did it. I've been trolled, yelled at, laughed at, and cussed for trying to stick it out here. I prefer to make up my own mind, and it hasn't been all bad. (Then again, even prison has its quiet days.) The low pay, the glacial response time from road maintenance, the bogus appointment information, the micro management, I put up with, all in the name of building some stability and finding something better after a year. But this "Drivers are equipment" attitude is more than I can handle. It's going to hurt us moving (we're beyond broke), but it will only get worse. Hot Chick learned their profits last quarter were down 40%. I wonder why that is...?

Saw that, but it didn't affect my decision. Mostly they're kind of like Holland, but dry freight. I prefer that to reefer. If they wouldn't take me I would have gone to Holland.

The perks are nice, but I was looking for a living wage and being treated like a professional. My friend who drives there tells me they are kind of hard nosed about their rules (they don't tolerate speeding or service failures well, for example), but they take good care of their drivers. And they have the freight to do it.

The equipment is about the same as I'm driving now (new Freightliner automatic, fridge, APU, inverter).

I'll keep you all updated. Trying to figure out how to do the move right now...probably gonna have to rent a car. Then we need to survive two weeks before first paycheck.

Deliver by noon today, no preplan yet. Probably going to extend my scheduled time off til Friday or Saturday then quit after payday...I've been a victim of the Gotcha game enough for one lifetime.

I shaved my goatee off yesterday, and now I want it back....

Battery powered no idle AC quit on me last night; I was up six times restarting the truck.

this megafleet logic baffels me I have read the post twice and still can't wrap my brain around it. captain you may need to correct me but it seems to go like pay the drivers by the mile then complain about chasing miles this is soooo illogical I may need beer to help digest this thought
