How many miles...did the truck have...when you bought it?...I though Crete has some kind of power train warranty on the used trucks...Or maybe not

    As is. Good luck.

Did you buy it direct from Crete?

Can you sue? Sure you can, its America, anybody can sue anybody for anything. But will you win? Highly unlikely; after all, you did buy it "as is" which means exactly what it says.....no warranty given, nor implied.
Ya pays your money, ya takes your chances!

If i sell you a car as is. Once you sign the paperwork your on the hook. Look for a lemon law, they exist here in mn, but i dont know if it would apply to your situation if you have them....

545K and El Kaboom? Was that the cam shaft that went or seized or rod protruding from oil pan?
@tucker I know you mentioned there were some savages driving there. but that's pretty low miles for DD go boom. How often do they PM?

I forget what sight it was on, but there was a Crete IC ( maybe this one, but I don't think so, seems like years ago ), that chronicled his adventures. I remember he bought a Century, and spit the tranny & flywheel, and Crete fixed it for him. His was a lease purchase though, but it wasn't a no money down deal, and he didn't pay through the nose for truck, think it was in the 500 or 600K range.
He had a black beard, young guy, always wore these aviator sun glasses.
He was doing ok, not making enough to fill a pup trailer with cash like CRE or PRIME, but he did OK, he used to post his statements.
