Here's what both steers look like up close. They look good from a distance. I mean I gotta wash the residual off tomorrow but this is what I got IMG_20160610_205714004.jpg

I've never been able to get all the fine swirl marks out of my stuff either. They look good from about 2ft away but if the light hits them just right, especially from a camera flash or a light bulb, you can see the swirls.

I've never used a power buffer on the wheels/tanks, only done by hand. I've had good luck with the green Intimidator Polish and the Wizards polish that comes in the band aid type container.
I'm starting to get some imperfections from road debris that won't come out and will eventually have to break down and get the sander out.

i just polished my rims today did a good job on my steers and pusher axle rims and then admittedly got lazy on drives. and just run the buffer over them. if there not pitted using some 00 and 0000 steel wool before you polish really helps. if you have some pitting use 400 grit sand paper on a soft block and then steel wool and then polish. i use a big rotary polisher for the buffing. if you can take the rims off the truck it makes things way easier.
