    I have been off work for a while nursing a sore back so haven't been using it, wife hasn't been home for a while but if she gets close to home was thinking of giving her the other one as her unit is just being a pain. She is on a day off in Edmonton AB and could try some remedies if you think you know what's wrong with her unit.
    None of her previous History or Address book got carried over.Could this be just a power issue? She has had to replace the DC power cord already with a RM replacement kit from truck stop. Unit is plugged in to a three way power adapter.So what do you suggest we should do to try and fix this unit????

    Odd cause I had a full charge on the unit, put it up in truck. I got back in and the unit was off. Pressed power button and the red flashing blank battery popped up. Plugged subtly in to back of unit, worked fine. In other news, been working great, but today it did something strange. Coming through Tulsa on 44, it zoomed out to 160 miles. No roads just my route. I cancelled and restarted route and it corrected itself but a little farther down the road, it zoomed out to 100 miles. The wife hit the zoom in button to 60 miles and so far so good. But why would it do that+

    Got unit to charge through the slice, although it adjusts to be touchy. Might be the contact points need wiping off. Cab anyone tell me the current map version for the tnd80? Still showing up to date, but a fellow at the flying j in Joplin told me that all rand mcnally units had updates. I got this one last month at the Loves in Ripley, WV

    @Mark Kling attention please? :)

    EDIT: after making this reply, I just realized I called it the wrong model. I have the TNDT80. SORRY.

    straight from the rm website:

    *Tablet owners: Please note that Rand McNally tablets do not use the Dock software. Your tablet receives all updates via Wi-Fi. When you are connected to Wi-Fi and an update is available, you will receive a notification in the upper left corner of your screen.

    which has NOT happened since about a month after I got the device.

    Soo. Good evening. I have a few question. I have 2 TND 720s. Both seem to work without a problem. Had problems in the past but, updates/diagnostics have resolved them. I was wondering..

    To purchase or not to purchase a TND 730. I was thinking it's a little faster updating (if missed a turn)
    or What about the TND Tablet? I have read a lot of bad reviews about the tablet when it first came out. Is it still as bad? The tripmaker feature I am mostly interested in..

    Thanks

    If you want near laser fast recalculation get the tablet. I love it. I also use it for Android features too like a spreadsheet to keep track of loads and road miles etc. They advertise it can be used as a dashcam too but the frame rate was like 3 frames per second, absolutely pathetic for hardware released in 2015. It'll freeze occasionally but a reboot fixes it. Toll pricing is NEVER correct however since my tablet has not updated since July 2015 it could've been fixed. Just waiting on mark to talk to me.

    If given the option of my old 720 or this old tablet - the tablet wins by leaps and bounds.

    Trip maker feature - you mean the multi stop trip optionn that can be reordered automatically or manually etc? I love it.
