Brief backstory. After working a few different back breaking labor jobs over the years I finally decided to get my CDL, which I did after attending CDL school which I paid for out of pocket. I attended from May- June 8th which is the day I graduated. Well, one day on the yard I was bs'in around with my instructor, and mentioned how I was looking to go with a more local type of job even thought it'd be a bit harder to get vs going OTR or regional. His words were "yea it will be harder but there are local jobs, you just have to look a lot more and be persistent, but if you have to go another route, you wont have any problem with the larger companies, they'll be calling you". He was right, since last Friday I've had about 15 emails and calls from different companies trying to "recruit me" and my god they are persistent. Almost makes me wish I wasn't so gungho on going local.

We can probably guess who most of the 15 companies calling you are. Almost bet Western Express is one. Many of them megas will hire anyone with a pulse. And it doesn't even have to be a strong steady pulse either.

Western flyer and roadmap65 Thank this.

Oddly enough WE hasn't been one of them. There have been some of your "typicals" for sure though.

Don't flatter yourself, ask yourself why are all these
Companies calling somebody with zero road expierence. if
What they have to offer is so great they wouldn't calling you,
You would have to call them.

Fresh meat! Fresh meat! Lets get him before he becomes spoiled on trucking. Lets fill his head with our BS, while we empty his wallet.

Take a breather there tiger. I wasn't remotely in any way "flattering" myself. I'm hip to the way things go. I just found it comical how suddenly all of these mega carriers are beating down my door without having ever talked to me. Speaks volumes in regards to the ridiculous turnover and negative aspects of being with said carriers.
