Has anyone had experience with these schools?

There is no problem going to school in Indiana. A lot of the students at C1 Indianapolis are from Ohio. Same goes for their School in Fort Wayne, IN...most of the students there are from Michigan or NW Ohio.

Anyway, I'd try to go to the Indianapolis campus. It is really easy to get to on I-70, and much bigger than their Fort Wayne school. The Indy facility is one of the nicest I have seen, and they have a large range with a lot of trucks.

You will end up getting a CDL in Indiana, but you will transfer it back to Ohio when you go home. This is not hard. The school does it that way so they can insure you actually have your CDL when you leave the school. It is easier to do it that way then to have the students do their skills test when they get home.

I'd also advise you go through the school buy paying for it yourself(ie go INDEPENDENT). Their discount cash price is $3,995...which is a great price for that school and then get a pre-hire for you before you come out to school. If you don't have the money, you can go through the sponsorship way(most people do) but you will have to sign a one year contract with eitner PAM or USA.

I do think they can finance you to go independent (no contract) but the price won't be discounted and the full price is $5,995. Still not a bad idea because you won't have to sigh a contract and they will place you will a better paying job...usually with Swift or Werner.

Oh, never mind...I just saw you are from NW Ohio. The Fort Wayne school is closer to you. It is fine, just smaller. Nothing wrong with that.

 

I agree with colts832000. I just finished up my training at C1 Indy last week and was very impressed with the overall handling of school and hiring process.

 

Schneider training is superior but it will cost ya one year or 4500 dollars. Either way they a leader in company training. I trained at the Charlotte NC center.
