I'm debating which will be the best way for me. I do like having them put away and the winches are more difficult to move around with straps rolled on them but it is a whole lot faster to put them away leaving them on the winches.

I have been pulling the same QuickDraw now for the last year and a half. Here is how I do it.

Straps always come off the winches and get rolled up hook out. They go on the deck by the headache rack or in the side box in the truck. Once loaded I stuff the hook down pas the gasket and throw the strap over. On the other side I roll up the excess and set it on the deck with about 2 feet hanging down. Feed the excess down past the gasket and pinch and tuck the strap into the winch. If you do it right you can get the strap to come out the other side of the winch. I can get the straps much tighter then rolling them up on the winch.

As far as washing goes I let blue beacon use what they want and the tarp still looks new. They use acid along the bottom edge because I pull a combi with an aluminum deck. Make sure you ask them to brush the curtain it makes a world of difference.

One last thing is keep the rollers lubed and only open the back when you have to. It way faster to open the front.

I fully agree on everything, except the "open the front" statement. Depends which brand you have. Running my fasttrack if you popped front the handle would come around with every bit of tension that the system had front to back. Enough to break a rib, knock a couple teeth out, break fingers or #### a wrist up good.

I was thinking about opening to the back too but I have to open the back anyways to release the tension.

After much internal debate and a stored strap coming loose and dangling I've decided it'll be best for me to store them off the winch. Little more time consuming but I think title be better for me.

New questions. How high of winds can these take? 40, 50, 60 mpr? How do they withstand hail? How big? Is it better to take the hail parked or rolling? How much snow can it hold up? How do you clear snow and ice?

Clear snow and ice by opening it. Slowly. And stand clear. Every wrinkle will be an escape route for the buildup. Same for when you park at a reciever and it rains overnite.
