They have two different leases.. One is a lease where you lease and when your lease is up you either turn the truck in or you buy it out right.. That's their regular lease program... The other is called the ACE lease where you put down 10k and you lease it until your last payment.. from his description he's doing the regular lease where he put nothing down.. Either less is under Prime's Success Leasing umbrella and they will not allow you to get your own authority... SFI is the best program to get a lease truck and own it so if they won't let us get our authority I know darn well Prime won't lol..

Oh duddie I'm so happy you had to find another thread to talk lies in. Still under a lease with success leasing and yes they did allow me to get my authority. There is nothing in the lease contract that says I can't. The lease contract has allowed you take the truck to another carrier, at least for the past 2.5 years. What proof would you like to see? You seem to always be an expert in all things prime yet you're not there.

You are correct I am on the basic lease. I do plan on buying the truck at the end of the lease and have been putting the money away for a much bigger down payment then the $14k, right now I'm expecting to have $30k for the down payment at that point leaving about a year left to pay after my original 3 year lease is up.

As I tell everyone in the regular lease at success, read the #### thing and you'll see where it allows you to take the truck elsewhere and doesn't prohibit you from getting your own authority. All it outlines is what the carrier you take the truck to has to provide.

From the basic lease to full out owning the truck is 4-5 years. Just depends on how big of a down payment you give them at the end of the basic lease. If it's just the $14k then it's about 2 more years after the initial 3.

    T_TRUCKER. Thanks this.

Yes they do have an excess milage charge that is based off of your average weekly miles calculated from annual miles. So 2800 miles x 52 weeks = 145,600 miles a year. 3500 miles x 42 weeks (if you recall in my post I take 10 weeks off or more throughout the year) = 147,000 miles. Yep they might get me for the extra 1,400 miles and at $.05/mile for that excess milage, they'll charge me whopping $70. How again does that not make business sense?o_Oo_O:cool:
