When I left in December 2014 there were a lot of rigs still running, but you could feel it in the air. Pioneer was still running pretty hard, but most everything was in NM at that point.
Are those Rough Riders clowns still in Pecos?
Recovery?

trying to find work in the patch, looks like things might be starting to pick up, but still no job openings to speak of
-
You have some activity north of big lake toward Garden city.
ONE rig around Barnhart doing work for EP, and they have about 3 Fracs going. (they are building a new cpf on the Uni 41)
Lots of sandcans in the region coming and going.
Water haulers they got zip, maybe one or two truck getting out per different yards -
Crude Oil , very few of them running from what i cross on the roads - Plains is gone from Mertzon, I heard Flint is gone from Angelo, still have Sunnoco around but rarely see them.
NGL disposals in Barnhart and Big lake still closed - the one on 137/33 is still open
so basically do not look for something south westits still pretty much flatlined
bigpwr and flightwatch Thank this. -
Yeah, Mertzon to Big Lake will probably be one of the last areas to pick up. Water is dead in this area for sure. Tom Thorp is running maybe 4-5 trucks in the day time and 1 at night. I've seen a few Dunagin trucks out and about. Selects yard in angelo is plumb full of vacuum trailers... But no tractors. Sand is where it's at right now.
-
Select is out of Big Lake as well... nothing but a single mechanic there.. P&P about the same in Angelo.(all their trucks are gone).
Standard have their yard in Big Lake by Pioneer, and show a recruiting sign but.. i never see them out
Diamond B have 1 or 2 out and they took their Recruiting sign down.
The most active in the region would be BTT. And a couple of C&J here and there, Panhandle, Basic as well
Salazaar more toward 158 area .
And down in Ozona the only busy guys are the one driving those black trucks with the white hood > -
There's an uptick in rig activity in OK, but many of them are "one hole wonders". This means they are only drilling one hole in order to maintain the lease rights, then moving on drill the next OHW. Later, when oil prices get above $70 or whatever the target price is, they will go back to drill out the other holes.
This is good for maintaining work in the short term for those of us that haul tools, pipe, or do rig moves. Not sure how it impacts other freight.NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
Halliburton is advertising in Midland Texas. Arkoma Energy Services is on craigslist and I'm starting to see a few signs for cdl drivers in the Midland/Odessa area.
-
Halliburton has been advertising on the radio here in Midland. I heard the ad on 102.1 fm but I didn't pay a lot of attention because I'm working still.
Arkoma is moving equipment and has a contract to haul chemicals for some of the Frac companies.
