I was offered 28cpm for the truck (students and my miles) and 1cpm for every mile the students truck runs after he is off my truck. This creates an incentive for the trainer to push team driving.

I should also note my surprise, because they want me as a trainer, but I have not driven OTR for 3 years. The heavy haul I have been doing is usually Fri/Sat 2-3 times a month.

You want to be responseable, for a new driver, with one week driving experience, for 28 cpm?
Set your expectations,much higher,make a few phone calls..28 cpm is highway robbery..unless your homeless.snowlauncher Thanks this. -
Yeah I have not made my mind up yet. I am kicking around a few other offers. The heavy haul company offered me a full time job if I wanted it. 39cpm, but they only average 2200mi/wk. ($858 ). CRE is saying 4000-5000mi/wk ($1120-1400/wk).
I trained for Central and was lucky enough to only have 1 BAD student. After a week on the truck we were routed back to SLC and he went back into the school. -
snowlauncher, Mr. OBX and PSUMoose Thank this.

CR England is a joke. I am home every night, making between 900-1100 every week hauling steel.
You need to keep looking. Good luck. -

I made up my mind about CRE when I met 2 exhausted student drivers who were in training together, with the same trainer on the same truck.
They would roll around the clock in an 8-hour rotation system, one sleeps/one drives/one sits in the jump seat. Rotate.
Need I say more!? -

PSUMoose Thanks this.
