I got a dometic portable refrigerator off of Amazon. It will run off of 12v DC without an inverter, draws about 1.5amps when it's running, runs about 1/3 of the time, so 0.5 amp/hours. Adjustable low voltage shutoff, digital thermostat can be set as low as 0°F and it also plugs in to 100-240v AC so it can be plugged in at home or the motel without one of those DC converters. 3 years parts warranty, 2 year service warranty.

Plus these units are meant for 4x4 off roading so they're built to handle bumpy roads.

Mine is set up in my '13 Cascadia, slid the passenger's seat all the way forward and built a little wooden stand behind it. I can pull it towards me for easy access going down the road.

The only down side is that you can either have a freezer or a fridge, but not both at the same time. The price is a bit steep too, but with the money you save not eating out all the time, being able to stock up at the grocery store vs buying junk at the truck stops, and not having food go bad like you get with the thermoelectric coolers... it's a little painful up front, but now that I've had it for a while, I'm glad I made the investment.

But the portable unit works for me since I'm a company driver and can't really have anything installed, plus there's always the option of taking it with me if have any extended down time, probably easier to sell too if I ever get tired of trucking.
