A classic case of an impossible dispatch.

Impossible dispatches are a norm nowadays. Its not like a carrier does everything intentionally.

It all starts from the salesman. Salesman tells the shipper/receiver that T-100 has space for 2 pallets, even though the trailer is already 79k. So they load it, driver goes to scale and take it back cuz its overweight now the 2 pallets become 1/2 pallet. OR Salesman says load will be there at 8am Mon Nashville TN, when the driver has an appt at Miami FL 6am mon before the nashville stop.

Carriers do this to secure the #### load. Driver doesn't know **** beforehand and is the one getting penalized for late delivery.

It sucks but this is "logistics".

    Don't they have load planners?

If so, aren't they aware of appointment times/dates?

If not, then they should be. The driver is not responsible for everyone else's screwups.

    bowhunter67 and mjd4277 Thank this.

Why take the last stop back instead of just spend the night somewhere and deliver it the next day?

    Dave_in_AZ, slick14 and bowhunter67 Thank this.

I am not taking sides with either party. But, I would never take a 5 stop load that loads and delivers on the same day, especially on a Friday. Way too many things that can go wrong. I hate multiple drop loads anyway, they have to pay Very Good for me to accept them.

They dont even give you all the information,on the preplan.
Once you accept the load, you then ser its impossible.
    Give you a 62 mph truck,and want you to cover 600 miles,in 24 hours.
Traffic, scales, etc, too bad, driver better not have to pee.
