Got to shipper at 1130, load was not ready till 1800, I'm parked on the street for a 10 hr, if I pull around into the back lot behind the building, will that mess up my break? New to this e-log thing. DM doesn't want me to risk the 10 hr on a hot load.
Sitting at shipper for 10

Most elog systems will let you move less then about a mile before changing status. Just make sure to turn vehicle off when done moving around to retain break status.
You gotta do what you gotta do. If it screws up your break and causes them to miss a load, they should have thought of that and configured them right or not put them in the trucks in the first place.
Best way to stop all this BS is for everyone to log it 100% honest and legal for a month and watch the grocery shelves start to go bare.Last edited: Jun 18, 2016
Pedigreed Bulldog, rabbiporkchop, JC1971 and 9 others Thank this. -
Tell that DM to stick that HOT load up his ###.....load will get there when it gets there due to the shippers negligence !
JC1971, 12 ga, Swedish Chef and 10 others Thank this. -
Also you will have time to move on your 8 hour. Put the address to the place. So I can see it on google maps. If it is not a very big place. You should be alright. Just drive slow and if you are driving for more then 3 minutes. Stop for five minutes and continue to the back if possible.
malinorn Thanks this. -
Yeah...just creep around like an old man in a Cadillac and watch Duty status..maybe stop every 20ft or so.I've crept around up to 1/2 mile before it changed.Dave_in_AZ Thanks this.

Will you be rested enough to drive after your "10" hour break?
If not then go back and log on duty when they got you loaded and take a 10 .JC1971, Friday and Dave_in_AZ Thank this. -
It's not a big place, just a little warehouse on a street with other little warehouses. I went in and asked if it was a live or preloaded trailer, because if it were live load, I'd have pulled in an done a split. But it's a d/h, so I'm just gonna wait a bit more and start fresh at 2130. Thanks, it's crazy different running with e-logs vs paper. Can't roll at all if something like this happens. :/Dave_in_AZ and roll_tide07 Thank this.

Haha, yeah, I hear ya, I did go to sleep at noon when I knew it wasn't ready yet, got 6 hrs, so I do feel "rested". I might try napping again now maybe.tucker Thanks this.

I'm also independently wealthy and drive a large truck because I'm bored and like living in a trailer park full of meth heads.
Lemme know how that works out first time you try that, scooter.dog-c and BUMBACLADWAR Thank this. -
Is there any way we could see some of the communications between you and your DM that reflect this attitude? I think it would be an interesting read and very educational for us newbies.
